This image was taken on a trip to Utah in Jan. 2005. It was late afternoon and I was scouting for a sunrise shoot for the following morning at Dead Horse Canyon. As I turned to leave I noticed the warm evening light falling on a old Bristlecone Pine. These trees are reputed to be the oldest plants on earth. This tree is probably around three thousand years old and shows the character that only comes with age. I almost missed this shot...I'm glad I didn't...it is one of my favorites.
